Founded in the heart of Lévis, our company is the result of the boldness, vision, and expertise of the Quebec families Garant and Mercier. Today, we are proud to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and quality in the saw and knife industry.

  • A rich history of tradition and innovation

    Napoléon Mercier, passionate about wood and the tools to transform it, founded the Lévis Saw Manufacture. From the start, the company stood out for the diversity and quality of its products: circular saws, precision saws, finishing knives, molding blades, and much more.

  • 1911

    Driven by rapid growth, the company officially adopted the name Scies Mercier. The workshop evolved into a full-scale factory, with dedicated sections for production, straightening, storage, and tempering. The walls of our original workshop, still standing today, remain a cherished part of Lévis' industrial heritage.

  • 1986

    A new chapter in our history began with the acquisition by the Garant family. In collaboration with our sister brands, Garant Machinerie and Elite Tools, we continue to innovate and provide tailored solutions to our clients across Canada and the United States.
